Homework Time!
Homework Time! is a personal animation project of a story about a lonely college girl named Bea who's roommate Jackie is her polar opposite. But despite all their differences, Bea feels a strange connection to Jackie that she can't quite figure out. Jackie is actually Bea's childhood imaginary friend that has come back disguised as a human to help Bea come out of her shell and learn to love herself again. But in this process, the two become closer than ever before.

I made Bea's design to contrast Jackie, but also hint at compatibility; while most of her design is dark and dull, the bright green in her design compliments the purple in Jackie's design. She is short and chubby with more of a goth look to her. Her choice of clothing reflects her insecurities, as she is only comfortable wearing baggy clothes.

Since Jackie is Bea's polar opposite, I made her tall and skinny with a much brighter pastel color palette. She likes to express herself, and she won't apologize for it! Her personality is very outgoing and upbeat, which I tried to reflect in her demeanor and vibrancy. To show compatibility with Bea, I included purple into her color palette to compliment the green in Bea's design.
